PAGE EIGHI Experience, Desired by This is the first. article in a series discussing the various phases of the Peace Corps program. There is no maximum age limit for persons wishing to volunteer for the Peace Corps, but they must be at least 18 years of age. arried couples without chil dren under 18 years of age may also be accepted into the Corps if they both volunteer and quali fy for the same Peace Corps proj ect. All volunteers must be citi zens of the United States. Most of the volunteers for the 15 Peace Corps projects now in operation are in their twenties but several persons 50 years of age or older have been selected for train ing in some of the projects. Regardless of the volunteer's age, he must pass the physical and psychological examinations administered by the Peace Corps. He must also have the technical or practical knowledge and ability needed for the proj ect. A college education is not neces sary to fulfill the requirements for projects in any of the fields. But practical experience, techni cal ability, physical stamina and emotional stability are key quali fications for a Peace Corps volun teer. In addition to the above quali fications, volunteers must also be able to adapt themselves to unfamiliar surroundings. They will be working in a new en vironment and climate with people of all races, religions and ci- I. urcs. The stated goal of Peace Corps projects is to help raise the stand ard of living in under-developed countries and to give the volun teer an opportunity to broaden his own horizons and learn while teaching and helping others. The first step in volunteering for the two-year period of service in the Peace Corps is to file a questionnaire with Peace Corps headquarters in Washington. In terested persons may obtain ques tionnaires by contacting the State College Post Office or by writing to the Peace Corps, Washington 25, D.C. Blue Key Forms Due Applications for Blue Key, jun ior men's hat society, must be returned to 119 Old Main by 5 p.m. today. Applicants must have a 2.2 All-University average.
