OCTOBER 26. 1961 Tickets Still Available For Ballet More than half of the stu dent tickets for the American Ballet Theatre performance at 8 p.m. Sunday in Recreation Hall are still available. Students are entitled to a free ticket to the University Artists' Series production upon presenta tion of a matriculation card. Tickets will be available from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. at the Hetzel Union desk today and tomorrow. The co-director of the BOWL is Oliver L. Smith, a 1959 grad uate of the University who has since become a stage designer and producer in New York. After graduating with a bach elor of arts degree, Smith went to New York and worked as a theatre usher until he got his "break" a commission to ,do the settings for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo's "Saratoga." Later Smith joined Jerome Robbins and Leonard Bernstein to work on "Fancy Free" for the American Ballet Theatre. It was this work which led to his being named the Ballet's co-direCtor with Lucia Chase in 1945, a position he has held since then. As a result of this appointment, Smith simultane ously launched a "second" ca reer as a producer. Smith's association with such Broadway hits as "Antie Mame," "My Fair Lady," _"Camelot," 'High Button Shoes" and 'Briga-1 doon" has won few him the Sam S. Shubert Foundation gold metal for "outstanding contributions" to the New York legitimate the atre.
