Assembly Will Meet Tomorrow By ANN PALMER The SGA Assembly will meet at 7 tomorrow night in 203 Hetzel Union Building to approve the appointment of Nancy Williams, junior in sec ondary education from Drexel Hill, as Encampment chairman. ! The appointment was made yes-| terday by Dennis Foianini, SGA! president. ' The new SGA constitution, as proposed by the Executive Re organization Committee will also be debated and possibly voted on at this meeting. Richard Haber, past SGA presi dent, appointed an Encampment chairman and business manager at Thursday’s Assembly meeting but received objection from sev eral Assemblymen who felt that the appointments should be made by the new president. After consultation with Foi anini, Haber agreed to withdraw his appointments if Foianini would name his appointees within 24 hours. Foianini named his Encamp ment chairman yesterday but said that he will withhold the appoint ment of business manager until a later date. The new SGA constitution, which has been worked on since April 6 when the Assembly ad journed for reorganization, will be presented to the Assembly for debate and possible action. The constitution was to have been acted upon at Thursday night's meeting. Since only 19 Assemblymen were present when the constitution was brought up, the Assembly de cided to postpone all debate un til tomorrow. Several major changes have been incorporated into the new constitution. It recommends that all bills be brought before the Rules Com mittee before being presented to the Assembly. If this is not done, the Assembly must approve pre sentation of bills by a three fourths vote of the eligible mem bership in order to bring it direct ly to the floor. The proposed constitution also prohibits persons from speaking from the gallery during an As sembly meeting except for a point of information. The proposed constitution gives the chairman the power to de termine when a gallery speaker has overstepped the bounds of information and to call him out of order if he states an opinion. Senior Week Alumni Pledges Due Tomorrow One more day of Senior Week remains for senior class agents to solicit Alumni Association mem berships from seniors, James Et telson, Senior Week chairman, said yesterday. Senior Week will end Sunday and class agents will be expected to turn in membership fees and pledges between 2 and 4 p.m. at the Alumni Office, 104 Old Main. Each of the 194 class agents had to contact eight to 10 seniors in his college during the past week in an effort to solicit member ships, Ettelson said. In addition, membership chairmen from each college were chosen to aid in the drive, he said. Membership costs are $2 for the first year, $3 for the next five years and $5 a year from then on, Ettelson said. These rates will be in effect until graduation, so that any seniors not contacted by a class agent may enroll, he added. Seniors may also purchase a life membership for $7O, Ettelson said. The Alumni Association spon sors more than 65 district clubs throughout the country, in addi tion to the Alumni Fund, the Al umni Institute and class re unions.
