1000 Student Tickets
Distributed for Ballet
More than 1000 tickets have been distributed to students
for the National Ballet of Canada performance to be held at
8 p.m. Sunday in Recreation Hall.
The program will be presented by the Uniersity Artist
able at the Hetzel Union desk.

The company is headed by
prima ballerina, Lois Smith and
premier danseur, David Adams
and a large group of soloists. The
entire company includes more
than 80 persons.
"Coppelia." one of the most
popular of the classic ballets,
will be presented Sunday night.
This ballet, based on Hoffman's
story, "Der Sandman." was con
trived by choreographer Arthur
Saint-Leon and composer Leo
Delibes.
"Coppelia" tells the story of a
beautiful girl who sits reading on
her balcony. She is seen and loved
by Frantz, who is bethrothed to
Swanhilda, a village girl.
Swanhilda soon discovers that
Coppelia is only a life-size doll
and changes clothes with her.
Frantz, coming to woo Coppelia, is
caught by her father and drugged.
Swanhilda reveals her identi
ty to the father and she and
Fronts are reunited and run
away leaving Coppelia's father
brokenhearted as he believed he
could bring the doll to life using
a book of magic.
The leading roles for the ballet!
will be played by Anne Neville,
Grant Strate, Sylvia Mason and
Colin Worth.
Music will be provided by the
National Ballet - Orchestra directed
by George Crum.
