Williams to Speak in Chapel
The Reverend Preston N.
Williams, assistant University
chaplain, will speak on “Faith
of the Heart” for the Chapel
Service at 10:55 a.m. tomor
row in Schwab.
The Reverend Theodore Braun,
United Church of Christ chaplain,
will speak on the “Sightseer from
Sheba” for the Protestant Wor
ship Service at 9 a.m. in the Hel
en Eakin Eisenhower Chapel.
Sunday morning seminars will
be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Pres
byterian University Center. The
topics to be discussed are: “The
Gospel of Mark,” “Fourteen
Great Christian Sermons,” “Pro
testant - Roman Catholic Encoun
ter,” and “Crossroads.”

fessor of child development and

On Antarctic
John M. Bechervaise, Ant
arctic explorer, author and
lecturer from Australia, will
speak at 8 p.m. Tuesday in
121 Sparks. The lecture is en
titled “Men on Ice” and will be
illustrated with color slides.
Bechervaise has led three Aus
tralian expeditions to the Antarc
tica and Heard Island.
He has also led various expe
ditions in Australia and made the
first ascent of Federation Peak
in Tasmania.
Bechervaise is co-author of a
book on antarctic exploration en
titled “Anare” and is a fellow of
the Royal Geographical Society
and the Royal Society of Artists.
He has been awarded the Polar
Medal for his work in antarctic
exploration, and membership in
the Most Excellent Order of the
British Empire.
Bechervaise is presently teach
ing at the Geelong Grammar
School in Australia.
The lecture, which is open to
the public, is under the joint spon
sorship of the Department of
Geography and the Social Science
Research Center.
Zelko to Chair Committee
Harold P. Zelko, professor of
speech, has recently been appoint
ed chairman of a new committee
of the Speech Association of the
Eastern States, the Committee on
Higher and Adult Education.
