Again in 1961 The Student Government Association
offers this Thrift Flight to Europe as a service to the
student body, faculty and staff of the University. The
aircraft used will be provided by a regular scheduled
trans-Atlantic carrier and will be the finest and fastest
type of piston equipment.
The Thrift Flight provided by SGA during Summer 1960
enabled 76 qualified Penn Staters to enioy Europe at
very substantial economies. Unauestionably many more
will wish to take advantage of the 1961 flights and tour.
The number of inauiries already received indicate the
substantial demand that exists.
It is important that you know that priority of applications
must be established by the date of their receipt at the
office of SCA together with deposit and supporting
documents which will be furnished with aoolication
forms. The necessary forms may be obtained by using
the blank below or by appearing in person at Room
203 A HUB.
CONDITIONS OF THRIFT-FLIGHT MEMBERSHIP:
1. Membership limited to those who have been officially as
sociated with the University for at least six months prior
to departure.
2. Qualified applicants may also apply in, behalf of spouse, de
pendent children and/or parents occupying the same house
hold. (No others).
3. Qualified applicants may apply for others as indicated
above without themselves accompanying these others.
4. Applications are limited to round-trips only (with the ex
ception noted below). A maximum of 4 children, ages 2-12,
Will be taken at 1/ fare.
5. Applicants for one-way passage are limited to 5% of total
plane capacity (approximately 4 in each direction) and such
applications will be honored only when It is apparent that
full capacity cannot be attained on a round-trip basis. One
way passage (if and when provided) shall be at two-thirds
the round-trip rate.
6. Applications will be accepted on a "first-come first-served"
basis provided all proper forms and necessary commitment
deposit accompany application.
