PAGE TWO Fraternities Rushing on Fraternity rushing will begin'at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, according to a report read by Gary Robinson, IFC Board of cOntrol chairman at the Interfraternity Council meeting Monday night. No fraternity man may contact a future rushee in the residence hail before this time, he emphasized. A meeting for all men interested in the fraternity system will be held shortly after rushing - begins, he added. Rushing, and the meth ods of accepting and rejecting' bids will be explained. Registra tion for any fraternity or rushee who wants to use the procedure will be held at this meeting, he added At present. no fraternity man is allowed in the residence halls even to visit an upperclass friend from B pan. until 7 a.m. Corky Goldstein, IFC rushing chairman explained last night. During rush, no freshman may be in a fraternity house after 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. on big weekends, Goldstein said. The use of alco holic. beverages is prohibited for freshmen under 21 and any rushee who falsifies any records of his ago to obtain • drinks jepordizes his chances during rushing, he added. In other business, IFC passed a recommendation that Junior Prom weekend parties be closed to fraternity men, their guests and rushees. This was designed to lessen the p.J zibility of lia bility for the ac:iions of other guests, Benjan.n Bronstein, IFC secretary-treasurer explained after the meeting. Chester Lucido, IFC vice presi dent, reported that the IFC-Pan— hel Intercollegiate Jazz Festival will be held March 10, 11 and 12. The jazz festival is being held this. year in• place of the IFC-Panhel; Ball. The first two days will be pre liminary sessions and the last a final roundup, he said.
