Elect 12 Members
The University Readers Board
has elected 12 students to par
ticipate in its programs for this
year. Candidates were required
to go through a preliminary
period of weekly workshops be
fore election to the group.
Those elected were David At
kinson, Janet Have r, Helen
Jeweils, Sarah Layton, Jack Marx
no, Peggy Mitchell, Maureen
O'Donnell, Barbara Jean Pace,
Philip Weber, Suzanne Wertz
and Arlene Weiner.
The • University Readers will
present their programs for stu
dents, State College residents and .
near-by community organizations.
The dates af the programs will
be announced later.

For Research Project

Dr. John Gibbons, professor of
physics, has been granted a 6-
month leave of absence for the
current semester.
He will do research on plasma
physics and on electro-magnetic
propagation in the ionosphere.
Later in the term he plans to
visit several physics laboratories
in the United States.
