tion from the audience when she
appeared on the stage.
Before reading her poem "St.
Jerome and the Lion" Miss
Moore explained that her in
spiratiori for it came from a
drawing in Time magazine.
"You can see I have very select
resources," she commented.
Miss Moore, before reading her
poem, "The Rescue of Carnegie
Hall," explained -that it was writ
ten to insure a proper tribute to
Isaac Stern and his colleagues
who fought to save New York's
and furthermore--

room last weekend, eyes spark
ling and breathlessly disclosed
that she had a date with a
fraternity man that night.
Since I'd been here for at
least a hundred years, she
wanted my learned advice on
whether "Sigma Chee" was a
"good fret." I hope her pro
nunciation of Greek terms im
proved a little before she went
there.
But then, everything seems
to improve as freshmen become
upperclassmen. Their sneaks
get dirtier, they stop going to
breakfast, they start sleeping
through classes, and pretty
soon they're upperclassmen.

Upon completing the reading
of this piece, Miss Moore, said
that almost ironically Stern was
opening at the Music Ha 11
Wednesday evening.
At a reception in the Players'
Green Room following the per
formance Miss Moore. said that
she speaks "quite a little" to
student groups. -
"I found the audience tonight
very appreciative, with much vi
tality and reciprocity," she said.
"They seemed to get the point."
• She recalled one audience that
stared at her like "Cigar Store
Indians" during the entire per
formance.

To Speak at HUB
Professor Robert Ho, chairman
of the Department of Geography
at the University of Malaya, will
speak at 4 p.m. today at the Hetz
el Union assembly room.
The topic of the lecture will be
"Man and Land in Malaya." Ho
is visiting geography departments
at American universities on his
route back to Malaya.
Ho who is an expert on tropical
agriculture recently served as
chief representative of the Uni
versity of Malaya at
. the Interna
tional Geographical. Congress in .
Stockholm, Sweden.

dance. Dennis chaired the meet
ing in the absence of President
