PAGE TWO National Radio Network Will Include Penn State The University may prove to he an important link in the operation of a proposed national collegiate radio network, according to Dr. Harold E. Nelson, associate professor of Nelson coordinated plans Structure Of AWS to Be Reorganized The Association of Women Students last night reviewed plans for the reorganization of women's government at the University. The - name Women's Student Government Association was of ficially changed to the Associa tion of Women Students last week. The AWS represents a broaden ing of function and a revision of structure of the former WSGA. Information concerning AWS Senate and Council .positions and a scheduled procedure for elec tions will be compiled b;• AWS officers tomorrow, it was an nounced. Under this new governmental system, a basic plan for the five communities in which women are residing will include four primary levels of governing bodies. Within each of the residence halls of a community. Unit Com mittees will be formed under the guidance of the senior resident. These committees will aid in the development of social, cultural and recreational activities in the residence halls. Chairmen of each of these unit committees will provide represen tation to standing council commit tees which will have correspond ing titles, social, cultural and rec reational. Chairmen of the standing coun cil committee will he non-voting representatives to the next body, the Community Council. A Community Council will be organized in the five communities where women are residing to pro vide local government for the community. 'Lick 'Um Lions' Pep Rally To Cheer Team to Victory Lick 'urn Lions, instead of Ying Yangs, are the golden words that will echo through out campus tonight at the pep rally for the Missouri game, to be held 7 p.m. in front of Old Main. It is compulsory for all fresh men to attend the rally with their clinks and name cards, Herbert Nurick, chairman of Freshman Customs Board, said. Any fresh man not in attendance will be subject to penalty by the board. Nelson, who is also general manager of WDFM, expressed hope that the University could i play a valuable part in the east ern as well as the national net work. Nelson said that plans are rapidly developing to link ed ucational stations in Canada with those in the New England states, New York, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. To the west, the schools of the Big Ten and the University of Chicago are well on their way to ward consolidating into a region al network which, it is hoped, will eventually be linked with networks from the Rocky Moun tains and Pacific states.
