Dr. Nixon
Less Gov't
By KAY MILLS
(Second in a' series of three
articles developed from an in
terview with Dr. E. L. Nixon,
uncle of Republican presidential
nominee Richard M. Nixon.)
The government should get
its hands out of agriculture, ed
ucation, industry, medical care
and the post office, Dr. E. L.
Nixon, retired University pro
fessor. said last week.
Dr. Nixon. whose nephew Rich
ard M. Nixon is •the Republican
candidate for president. feels the
government regulates too much,
a position with which he says his
nephew concurs.
Dr. Nixon, although "rocked in

• Dr. Nixon said he is sure insur

medical aid program more effi

He said Democratic farm leg

farmers to produce more sur
pluses instead of reducing them.
He also said a private firm could

He said few people in the world

With Khrushchev at the United

or Cuba or anything else which

Concerning Nixon's differences
with Secretary of Agriculture
Ezra T. Benson, his uncle said
there is "not much of a conflict."
He added Benson "is electioneer

administration's farm policy is a
sound one but couldn't be pushed
through the Democratic Congress.
