signed to develop means of
adapting programming methods
of teaching basic co 11 eg e
courses in mathematics and
English composition for presen
tation over closed-circuit tele
vision.
The television presentations
will be integrated with paced and
regulated study-learning sched
ules for large groups of college
students.
The researchers hope to com
pare the effectiveness, in terms of
learning, of teaching the same ma
terial by closed-circuit television,
by individual "tutorial study"
and by conventional teaching
methods.
