Goldberg Appointed
Director of Hale!
Rabbi Norman T. Goldberg has been appointed director
of the Wnai B'rith Hillel Foundation.at the University.
Goldberg will leave his position as rabbi of the Congrega
tion
of Agudath Jacob in Waco, Texas, and come to.the
Uni
versity at the end of August.
Goldberg, who was born in Chicago, received his bache
lor's degree in mathematics from
Roosevelt University in Chicago.
,He was ordained at the Hebrew
Theological College in 1951.
While in Chicago, Goldberg
served as principal of the Pre
; paratory Division, South Side
Branch, of the
. Hebrew Theo
logical College an d taught
courses in 'Talmud, Hebrew,
Biole and history.
In March of 1952, Goldberg en
tered the Army Chaplaincy and
served at Fort Keonard Wood and
for 18 months in Korea. He re
ceived the Bronze Star shortly
before his discharge in 1954.
In March of 1954 Goldberg ac
cepted his Waco position. While
there, he served on boards and as
officers of the Goodwill Indus

and the Waco Inter-racial Coun

tion methods, Goldberg also
served on the boards of the Jew
ish Welfare Council and Jewish
War Veterans. From 1958 to 'term as president of the Texas
