Of the nine teams on this fall's schedule, only Pittsburgh and Army hold the upper hand over the Nittany Lions. The Panther's 22-7 victory last year was their 33rd since 1893 in a series which shows 23 Penn State triumphs and three ties. The best State has managed against Army since 1899 is two victories (in the series opover and last season) and a pair of ties. The Cadets have won six games. Five 1960 opponents Boston University, Missouri, Illinois, Maryland, and Holy Cross will seek their initial win over Penn State. The Nittanv Lions have de feated BU six times Missouri once, Illinois twice, Maryland six times and Holy Cross five times. Maryland will return to the schedule for the first time since 1944. The 39-year-old rivalry with Syracuse is a nip -and-tuck affair. The Lions have 17 wins, while Syracuse's 20-18 verdict lad year was its 15th. The teams have played to five ties. Penn State has beaten West Virginia 111 times. The Mouintain eers own seven v, - ins. Theft last one came in 1955. A 1958 14-14 standoff was the second tie in the Series which got underway in 1904.
