Sophs Donate
To lion Fund
The Sophomore Class Advisory
Board voted Sunday night to do
nate the $l5 profit from the
Froshmore Duo dance and the re
mainder of its treasury at the
close of the year to the lion suit
fund.
Since the Board lacks $5OO for
the new suit, the old lion suit will
again be used next fall,
The ROTC committee reported
that a special committee will be
formed in the fall to look into the
question of whether the Univer
sity should have a compulsory
ROTC program.
At the close of the meeting,
Duane Alexander, sophomore
class president, thanked the
Board for its support and said
that it had accomplished much
throughout the year.

other result of the pronounced
dryness.
During the latter part of April
the big weather problem was
heat. Temperatures soared to
the highest readings ever ob
served in the Nittany Valley so
early in the spring.
Another sharp change occurred
during the early part of May
which ended the heat wave and
started a period of rain. The six
inches of rain that has fallen dur
ing the last three weeks is twice
the not mal amount and it has
cleated a possibility of local
flooding.
Now the big question is—what's
next!
