PAGE EIGHT Grad School Awards 11 Fellowships The Graduate School an nounced that 11 University ' graduate students who are now graduate teaching as- sistants or have been for one year have been awarded the National Science Foundation Summer Fellow ships for 1960. These fellowships for former graduate teaching assistants pay the recepients a weekly stipend of $5O to $75 for 9 to 12 weeks during the summer Tuition is also paid by the foundation. This en ables a student who had been a teaching assistant to devote his 1 full time to giaduate study during the summer. The students who applied were evaluated by a local committee, and if considered among the top 20 of the list of 43 applicants, were lecommcnded to the National Sci ence Foundation. Then a national panel of scientists re-evaluated the 43 applicants Awaids were then given by the National Science Foundation. Three of these students, Har rison, Kramer and Mott have Na tional Science Foundation Fellow ships for the academic year 1960- 61. Bluhm to Give Lecture; 2nd in Simmons Series Dr. Heinz S. Bluhm, chairman of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literature at Yale University, will present the sec ond lecture in the 14th annual Luerctia V. T.
