crucial year for student govern
ment."
Approximately 23 per cent of
the student body voted in the
election which was one of the
most controversial in the past
decade. Counting of the ballots,
which began at 9 last night, took
until almost 2 this morning.
A somber Leonard Julius, SGA
president, paced the floors of the
HUB card room where the count
ing was done and cracked his
first smile when the results had
been tabulated.
"I'm certain that those candi
dates who were successful will
more than justify the trust placed
in them by their fellow students.
My heartiest congratulations to
the new SGA officers and Assem
blymen," he said when the vote
was announced.
