Outstanding Pledges
To Be Announced
The outstanding sorority and fraternity pledges for 1959-
60 will be announced tonight at the annual Greek Week Out
standing Pledge Banquet.
The Fraternity pledge class with the highest scholastic
average will also be presented with the Interfraternity Coun
cil Pledge Class Scholarship
Award.
Deadline Set
For Entries
In Pageant
April 22 has been set as the
deadline for entries in the
Miss Centre County Pageant,
Doyle Corman, publicity
chairman for the event, said
today.
Any young NN Oman Who Will
he a high school graduate and
tqeen the age, of 18 and 28 as
of Sept 1 is eligible to enter. She
must have lived in Centre County
foi the past six months or be at
tending the University, and, of
course, be single
All entrants will be requited,

3 minute talent toutme open to
eitloq amateur or professu•nal

a bathing suit event. The judges
will he looking foi a Miss Centre
County with good charactei, poise,
pet. onality, intelligence _a n d
heiioty of face and figure.

the pageant to be held at 8 p.m.,

1959 was eligible for nomina
tion. All nominees were
screened and five sorority and
five fraternity finalists were se
lected. However, the names of
the finalists have not been re
leased.
Robert Parsky, chairman of the
IFC Board of Control, will be
the main speaker and Richard
Haber. junior in business admin
istration from Bethlehem, will
serve as toastmaster for the din
ner. 1
The Outstanding Pledge awards
will be presented by Mrs. Norma
Mountan, assistant to the dean of
women and Wilmer E. Wise, as
sistant to the dean of men in
charge of fraternity affairs.

Five points toward the over
all Greek Week trophy will be
given to each sorority and fra
ternity represented at the ban
quet. The winners of the Out
standing Pledgo award will re
ceive five more points for their
respective groups.
The Pledge Banquet is the
fourth event in Greek Week. Last
,night 40 fraternities and 23 sor
orities pat ticipated in exchange
'dinners. Fraternity men picked
,up their sorority guests in the
residence halls and took them
,to their houses for dinner.
Sorority hostesses entertained
reciprocally in the residence halls.
Following dinner the guests were
entertained in the suites and the
houses until 8 p m.
