Frear Lab Inhabited
Rats Help Bio-Chemist
With Nutritional Studies
Unknown to many students on campus, a colony of rats
is making its home on the third floor of Frear Laboratory
under the guardianship of Dr. Nollie B. Guerrant, professor
of biological-chemistry.
These rats are used as tools for the experiments made on

the cats is sterilized.
Years ago the rats were often
hollowed for fraternity initia
tions, but this is no longer per
mitted When the rats were re
turned by the fraternities, they
were often infected with a disease
that would spread rapidly through
the entire colony
