TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 1960 Parkinson to Speak Tonight in Schwab Three hundred sixty-one student tickets and 85 non student tickets remain for the C. Northcote Parkinson lecture' scheduled for 8 tonight in Schwab Auditorium. Parkinson, an eminent historian and author of the recent best-seller, "Parkinson's Law," will speak on his famous study of spreading bureaucracy in the 20th century. Doors will open at 7:30 for the lecture. According to Parki: idea of his now-fame came to him while sei major in the British Arp World War 11, The C. Northcote Parkinson prompted him to do research in other areas of administration, and this produced further results. He investigated the produc tivity of boards of directors, com mittees, councils and cabinets. He developed a "cocktail party form ula" designed to simplify identi fying the really important people present. Parkinson was characterized in The New York Times Book Re view as "Bugs Bunny with a PhD, nonchalantly nibbling his carrot." His interests are as varied as his career, which has included training as an artist, museum as sistant and schoolmaster. Parties Hold Meetings For First Registration Campus and University parties held preliminary registration meetings Sunday. Fifty-five students registered for Campus party and 351 regis tered for University party, Robert Umstead, Elections Committee chairman, said. Final registration and prelim inary nomination meetings will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. Campus party will meet in 121 Sparks and University party will meet in 119 Osmond.
