STATE COLLEGE PENNSYLVANIA 'Ghosting' Investigated In N.Y.C. Eight private agencies in New York City are being in-; vestigated on charges of ghost writing theses, term papers and examinations. It is claimed that the agencies got as much as $3OOO for writing theses and from $5O to $5OO for term papers. Similar fees were charged a student to have some one take an examination for him. The New Yolk Times explained that these agencies would be vi olating a New York State law which makes it a misdemeanor to obtain degrees or et edits fraudu lently. Those who assist in the ,fraud as equally guilty. How widespread the ghost writing might be is not yet known isince investigations have just be !gun, the Times reported. No par ticular schools were named as I"victims" but it is thought that Iseveral in the metropolitan New (York area may have been in volved.
