Denty Gives Talk
On Will Power
Will power is a pure outcome.
not of the intellect, but of the
emotion that empowers all—
namely love, Dr. Vera Denty, an
English psychologist, said last
night in a lecture sponsored by
the Newman Club.
This will power defies logic in
that the more you use it, the more
you have of it in the end. It
serves as a reservoir of creativity
and makes man a serviceable hu
man being, she said.
Man has this free will, while
animals have only instinct to
guide their actions, Dr. Denty
said.
Related to the theory of free
will is the division of conscious
and unconscious will. Conscious
will, she said, is the direction of
the whole personality on a cer
tain goal, either long or short, but
with the entire being.
