The Mounties' Jerry West, along with Oscar Robertson, ranks as the top fionteourtmen in the country while Penn State's Mark I)uMar4 is one of the best back courtmen. West and DuMars have hooked up in some tremendous scoring duels in the past and tonight's game should be a continuation of their personal battle. Last yea' at Rec Hall, West out- Feored HuMars 32-30 as the top ranked Mounties edged the Nit tanie' in overtime. Earlwr this season at Morgan town, West again topped DuMars, 34-31 to spatk West Virginia's 104-74 win West is the seventh leading replyr in the nation with a 26 point average and DuMars is tenth with a 24 point average. In addition to their scoring ability, both are outstanding defensive ballplayers and West is one of the top rebounders around with an average of 16 per game. West, the man towns are named after in Mountaineerland, is the main cog in the West Virginia offense, one of the smoothest in college circles. The Mounties bring an 11-1 rec ord and a number three national ranking into tonight's tilt against John Egli's Lions who are 3-5 including two straight wins over Duquesne and Carnegie Tech Even though the Mounties are heavy favorites, the Lions have high hopes of an upset. "The boys don't have to get up for this one," Egli said. "They all know the importance of the game." Captain Wally Colender ex pressed the sentiments of his teammates after practice last night. "West Virginia has a great team. There's no doubt about it. But if we don't have a chance to beat them, then why play them at all."
