Weather for Game
Worries Students
What will the weather be Saturday in Philadelphia? This
is a question that has gone through every student’s mind as
he or she looks forward to the Liberty Bowl game.

If past records are any indication
of what may be expected, there
are numerous possibilities.
The middle of December is well
knoWh in the state’s largest city
for its varied weather. On occa
sions temperatures have changed
as much as 20 degrees in a single
hour. The thermometer has
touched the 75-degree mark on
several December days. But, on
fhe other hand, it has been as low
as 5 degrees below zero.
Howling snowstorms have
paralized the city with 10-foot
drifts. Yet, on other days, bright
sunshine and mild southerly!
breezes have brought premature <
thoughts of spring.
The largest snowstorm ever ob
served in Philadelphia fell on a
120 E. College Ave.

The Vaisity Chess Team con
tinued their winning streak by
shutting out Georgetown Univer
sity 5-0 in a match Saturday night
in Washington, DC.
They now have a 7-0 season
record.
