These words were overheard
from a passing motorcycle mount

patrolman last night.
Bedlam broke loose on at least
three separate occasions as every
one got into the act in the third;
night of what has probably been
one of the greatest displays of
college spirit in the country.

Wednesday night an exhuber

chow, and started a march that
took them to North Halls, West
Halls, through the town and
back to the Nittany Lion Shrine.
Here a makeshift band, joined

beating on a waste basket and

providing the accompaniment for
songs and cheers. The newest
cheer went, "Give me a S-Y-R-

Not to be denied, an undaunt

265 Pints of
Blood Donated
To Red Cross
Two hundred and sixty-five,
pints of blood were donated at,
the Red Cross Bloodmobile can
teen which was located in the
Hetzel Union cardroom for the
past two days.
Out of 128 students scheduled
to donate yesterday, 95 appeared,
and there were 54 walk-ins. Sev
en people were rejected because
of medical reasons, making the
amount of blood given yesterday,
142 pints. There were 123 pints
donated on Wednesday.
Loren D. Tukey, vice chairman
of the State College chapter of
the bloodmobile drive, said that
the total of pints contributed was
not as high as it has been in
previous years. He said that the
decrease in donations this year
was probably due to the number
of students who have colds and
other illnesses.
