Piercy Awarded Prizes
Along with the other gifts and trophies, Miss Pier
presented a four-year full tuition gubernatorial scho
by Mrs. David L. Lawrence, wife of Gov. Lawrence.
Miss Piercy will also receive a scholarship frc
Pepsi-Cola Bottlers of Pennsylvania, a wardrobe I
Atlantic City trip, and stipends from each personal ;
ante she makes during the corning year, amounting
$20,000. Each of the finalists also will receive scholars]
Miss Piercy graduated from the University in Jur
completing her studies in three, rather than four yea
has been hired by the Lower Merion School Syste
teacher in the system's elementary school. She 1
Springfield with her parents, where her father is an in!
agent.
The new Miss Perthsylvania will probably take a
absence for the coming year from her teaching dut
