Band to Give
Concert Sunday
The program for the Penn State
Blue Band's annual spring con
cert has been announced by James
W. Dunlop, conductor.
The concert will be held at 3
p.m. Sunday on the Pattee Li
brary steps.
The band will open the concert
with the national anthem. This
will be followed by "Centennial—
Concert March" by Meredith Wil
son and "Symphonic Songs for
Band" by Robert Russell Ben
nett.
Louis Curry, junior in business
administration from Uniontown,
will present a tympani solo en
titled "Timpat" by Robert L. Leist.
Stanley Michalski, graduate in
music education from Nanticoke,
who is assistant conductor for the
program, will conduct this num
ber.
Other numbers included are:
"American Salute," "Dramatic,
Episode," "Dixieland Concerto,"
"Washington's Gray Match" and
"Elsa's Procession to the Cathed
ral" from Lohengrin.
Following these numbers the
Women's Chorus, directed by Dr.
W. Paul Campbell, will sing "The
March of the 111-Assorted Guards,"
"Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor"
and "The Happy Wanderer"
The program will conclude with
selections from "Gigi" and "The
Stars and Stripes Forever."
