University Gets Grant
For Rat Study Project
The University has received a
grant of $lO.OOO for a 2-year
period, beginning July 1, for the
renewal of the research project,
"The Relationship of Vitamin B 6
to Protein Metabolism During
Pregnancy in the Rat."
The grant was given by the Nu
trition Foundation and Ruth L.
Pike, associate professor of foods
and nutritious, is directing the
study. Previous study has been
made on the total protein in the
plasma, hemoglobin, nitrogen bal
ances, blood volumes and extra
cellular fluid.
