The Professor Snarl' contest is
part of the campaign for the
World University Service, an or
ganization designed to bring aid
and relief to foreign students and
teachers. Most of the proceeds
from this year's campaign will
go to students and schools in
Asia.
A cookie sale will also be held
as a part of the campaign.
Several fraternities and sorori
ties have given donations to the
Woi Id University Service.
There will oe a discussion of
the World University Service
and its functions after Friday
night services at the HiLel
Foundation.
The first place winner of the
Professor Snail contest will re
ceive a dinner for two at the
Tavern, and two tickets to the
Cathaum Theater. The second
place winner will receive two
tickets to the Cathaum Theater,
and the thud place winner will
receive a gift from Graham's
news store.

start today with the opening
of exhibits in the Hetzel Un- 1
ion Building and downtown
stores.
The celebration will end with
an Armed Forces Day parade at
7 p.m. Thursday on College Av-

acoustic torpedo. The exhibit will
be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p m. to
day and tomorrow and until
9 p m. on Thursday.

contains various sensing instru
ments and can be towed as fast
as 35 knots.

play a model of the Mark 24
mine. better known as FIDO,
which was used against German
U-boats in World War IL It was
the first American acoustic tor
pedo to steer on a noise target.

Drill Trophy

The Pershing Rifles drill team won the Milton S. Eisen
hower trophy Sunday in a tri-service drill meet on Beaver
Field.
The Navy ROTC drill team placed second in the meet
which was divided into two competitions: standard drill pro
ficiency and advanced trick drill.
The Pershing Rifles also won
four trophies at the Fifth Regi
ment Pershing Rifles annual
drill meet two weeks ago.
About 4000 persons attended
the meet. The trophy was pre
sented by President Eric A.
Walker.
In another Mother's Day event,
Eleanor Judy, senior in home
economics from Cochranville, was;
crowned May Queen Saturday at 1
the May Day program.
She was crowned by Jessie,
Janjigian, president of the Wo
-1 men's Student Government Asso
ciation, which sponsored May
Day. Maxine Miller, freshman in
education from Sayre, was the
maid of honor.
The queen, her maid of honor
and court walked through an
honor arch composed of 20 senior
women and an evergreen chain
composed of 34 senior women.
