It was a day of disappointment
for most of the field of 150 play

some bf the game's greatest shot
makers.
Mazur's round includes six bir

came on putts of 10 to 15 feet and
a sand trap was responsible for
his bogey.

In All-Star LaX Tilt
Coach Earnie Baer, Penn State lacrosse mentor, has been
selected u an assistant coach for the North team in the
annual North-South All-Star game to be played June 5 at
Johns Hopkins University.
This year's game will be played under the lights on
Hopkin's Homewood Field, with * *
play getting under way at 9 p.m.
Ben Martin, coach of the Mas
sachusetts Institute of Technol
ogy lacrosse team, has been
named head coach of the North
team. Jim Adams, Army's coach,
was also given an assistant
coaching spot along with Baer.
For the South team. Charlie
Wentael, the Loyola coach, was
given the head coaching job.
Howard Knuttgen, Ohio State's

the Washington and Lee men
tor, were named as assistant
coaches for the South team.
The. North team as well as the
South will be made up of 21
senior players, who will most
likely be playing in their last

The North-South game is al
ways well publicized in the
Baltimore area as is evidenced
by the thousands of people who
turn out' for the games.
This game is for the most part
a publicity 'stunt used to promote
the sport of lacrosse. The contest
helps to bring in revenue for the
United States Intercollegiate La
crosse Association. Several col
leges bid yearly for the honor of
i holding the game on their' respec-
I time campus.
This year's game will most
likely prove to be a tie breaker
as each team has registered
eight wins in the 19 years with
one game going to a 14-14 tie.
In last year's game, the South
team scored a complete romo as
they walloped the North, 26.6.
