PAGE EIGHT Mortar Board Gives 6 Grants Mortar Board, senior women's hat society, has awarded $lOO scholarships to six women stu dents. The Helen Eakin Eisenhower Memorial Scholarship was award ed to Dorothy Baker at the Potts ville Center. This scholarship was eoablished in 1955 in memory of Mrs. Milton Eisenhower, a Mor tar Board adviser. Recipients of five $lOO awards horn the Charlotte E. Ray Fund were Eniko Borncmisza, sopho more in arts and letters from Ligonier; Bernice Bongiorno, jun ior in arts and letters from Erie; Judith Kirchner, junior in edu cation from Latrobe; Doris Har riff, junior in music education horn Richardsville; and Barbara Malicki, sophomore in home eco nomics from Osceola Mills. This fund was established in 1946 in honor of Miss Ray upon her retirement from her position as dean of women. Members of the council of fered to return to the campus three days prior to registration in order to help freshmen with pre registration necessities. They will offer general assistance to the faculty advisers. The council also reviewed final plans for the council banquet to be held 6.30 Tuesday night in the Hetzel Union dining room. John R. Rackley, dean of the College of Education will speak at the dinner and awards will be presented to seven outstanding seniors enrolled in the college for superior work in the curriculum.
