department of a hospital. It
operates Monday thijough Fri
day from 8 a.m. to noon and from
1:30 until 5 p.m., and on Saturday
from 8 a.m. until noon. Students
who come here with minor ail
ments are examined by a doctor
and released with prescribed
treatment. Those with more ser
ious illnesses are admitted to the
University Hospital.
The hospital is open 24 hours
a day during all school sessions
except Thanksgiving, Christmas
and Spring Recesses. During the
hours when the dispensary is
closed, emergency cases are treat
ed in the hospital.
Students who require emer
gency treatment should report
to the nurse at the main desk in
the hospital. In the ffeveni of a
serious case, the nurse will con
tact a doctor who is on call at
all times.
The health center is capable of
handling almost all emergencies
with the exception of those re
quiring general surgery. Surgical
cases are sent to the Centre Coun
ty Hospital in Bellefonte.
In addition to the usual doctors
and nuises, the health center has
a dental department located on the
second floor. This department is
equipped for all types of dental
work. Students may take advant
age of this service for emergency
treatment of toothaches or for
temporary fillings.

Child Hit by Car ;
Condition 'Goo d'
A five-year-old boy was listed
in “good” condition at Centre
County Hospital after he was
struck Sunday morning by a car
driven by Charles R. Ammerman,
inventory clerk of the University
property inventory division.
Richard Johnson, of 235 S. Buck
hout St., State College, received a
possible fractured skull and cuts
of the left hip and left eye and
was admitted to- the hospital in
critical condition.
