Santoro Designs Portable Sets
For Community Theatre Play
Floyd Santoro, senior in
theater arts from Johnstown,
lias designed the sets for the
Community Theatre produc
tion, “Alice in Wonderland,”
to he given at 7.30 p.m. tomorrow
and at 10 30 am. and 230 p.m.
.Saturday in the State College
Junior High School Auditorium,
The entire cast will be made up
of children between Ihe ages of
11 and 14, all from the Slate
College area.
The play is a 3-act adaptation
of Lewis Carroll's “Through the
Looking Glass," and “The Adven
tmos of Alice." The version which
will be used was written by Char
lotte Shorpenning.
Set designer Santoro says
that he planned his designs to
capture the "dream-like qual
ity" of the illustrations from the
original edition of Carroll's
book which were drawn by
Tennil.
The sets will not be fixed sets,! lent campuses at its Tuesday after

vices for these paper mache crea
tions were devised by Mrs. Jon
Barry Wilder.
The child actors were recruit
ed from the State College junior
high and elementary schools.
The pari of Alice will be played
by Belsi Bell, daughter of Mrs.
Louis H. Bell and the late Louis
M. Bell, former director of the
department of public informa
tion.
The price of the tickets is $1
for adults and 35 cents for chil
dren. Tickets will be sold at the
door for all performances.
