Of Farm Price Supports
WASHINGTON (;P)- Presidem
terday to plow under the presei
control programs of American agi
He denounced these programs,
in a special message, with an un

lie said nonsupported farm pro
ducts are doing better than those
given a crutch made of taxpayers’
money.

with principles he and Secretary
of Agricultuie Ezra Taft Benson
have been plugging for years. The
reaction in Congress was familiar,

of one purpose Eisenhower re
stated: to explore all means for
using America’s great farm sur
pluses to help advance the cause
of world peace.
This would presumably include
the shipping of food to help feed
the ill-nourished m lands which,
because of their misery, could fall
easy prey to the lures of com
munism.
