'omen Relates of Jet Flight 881 LEVINE !I women, said yesterday she found: mber—one of the most exciting; Lilt of her position as dean. . luncheon in the Hetzel Union , led some of the details of a trip' 'she and Captain Renee Rubin, of the women's Air Force ROTC,' took to Craig Air Base in Ala-! bama this summer. She was told she would be al lowed any pleasure she wanted, and casting about for something she thought would not be granted, she decided she wanted a ride in a jet bomber with Colonel Horn of the base as her pilot. She got it! The plane, with Dean Weston aboard, climbed to an altitude of 20,000 feet and reached a maximum speed of 550 miles per hour. Colonel Horn then turned and asked her if she would like to see some fancy flying and Dean Weston said she thought to herself, "There's no sense being up in a plane unless you get the works"—so she said yes. "The works" consisted of tilting the plane sideways and up and down followed by a somersault. Then Colonel Horn asked her if she'd like to "drive the plane." So, she said, knowing full well that he would not let anything happen to the plane—jet planes are expensive she agreed to [drive the plane. Her second great thrill while dean of women came when President and Mrs. Eisenhower were visiting the president's brother and sister-in-law on campus. Miss Weston said the papers had asked people not to go to Milton Eisenhower's house while the president was there, but one morning Helen Eakin Eisenhower called her and asked her to visit them. "Dean," Mrs. Eisenhower said, "you're neglecting me and my guests," so "braving all those men in the bushes" (secret service men) Dean Weston walked into the house and met the president and ;his wife on a social basis. .
