Van Zandt of the Joint Congressional Com mittee on Atomic Energy will address the American Society of Agricultural Engineers at its spring meeting, to be held today and tomorrow. Van Zandt will discuss peaceful uses of atomic energy, especially in agriculture at 3:10, p.m. today in Schwab Auditorium. Sterling W. Mudge of New York City will keynote the opening ses sion at 2 p.m. today in the Mineral' Science Auditorium. His topic will be "Working Together." A banquet will be held today in honor of John E. Nicholas, a faculty member for 28 year; who has worked with the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. Fred Knipe, engaged in Rocke feller Foundation sanitation re search, will talk on "Mosquitoes and Engineering," and William A. Junilla of Storrs, Conn., will dis cuss poultry house ventilation. Uses of radiation in biochemistry, food preservation and milk steril ization will be discussed by other staff members. Dr. C. H. Blanchard, associate professor of physics, will explain nuclear reactors before a tour this afternoon through the atomic re actor. Krauss, profes sor of Latin, said, "None of the other colleges at the Senate meet ing wanted the ROTC program. This is not in character." If some thing is good, he continued, the other colleges want it and fight for it. The state highways department today announced the 3.36-mile stretch of Route 545 as one of 33 additional highway projects on President Dwight D. Eisenhower's accelerated public works projects.
