Will Highlight
Arts Festival
A performance by the Penn
State Players of Noel Coward's
"Tonight at 8:30" an dl an exhibit
by the Department of Home Art,
"Backgrounds for Living", will
highlight the program of an Arts
Festival scheduled to begin Fri
day and continue until May 17.
The Festival will consist of lec
tures, concerts, theatre arts pro
ductions and exhibitions, and
will open Friday at 8 p.m, with
the first public campus perform
ance of "Tonight at 8:30" at Cen
ter Stage.
The play consists of three of
Coward's one-act plays, "Red Pep
pers", "Still Life" and "Hands
Across the Sea." The play will
continue every Friday and Satur
day night after that for five
weeks.
The home arts exhibit at the
Hetzel Union Building will also
open on Friday and will continue
until May 2.
The program next week will be:
A concert by the Penn State
Glee Club, 3 p.m. Sunday, Schwab
Auditorium; a lecture by Dr.
Anton Ehrenzweig, British author
and lecturer, on "Freedom and
Discipline in Modern Art," 3 p.m.
Monday, Hetzel Union auditor
ium; a University Symphony con
cert, 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30,
Schwab Auditorium.
A photographic exhibit by the
Department of Theatre Art s;
Saturday, May 3, HUP, and a con
cert by Toshiya Eto, violinist, 8
p.m. Saturday, May 3, HUB audi
torium.
