Votes nd
Of Rotation
The Chemistry-Physics Student
Council has voted 13 to 5 to go
on record against the fraternity
independent rotation system for
All-University elections.
The council also tabled a mo
tion for a "directed vote" plan,
which would 'require the coun
cil's president or representative
on All-University Cabinet to vote
on controversial issues as the
council members wished him to
vote.
Also as part of the motion, pro
posed by Donald Zepp, junior in
chemical engineering from York,
the council president would be
required to bring all controversial
issues before council for discus
sion. The president would be re
quired to follow council feeling
if the council instructs him by a
two-thirds vote.
President Carroll McDonnell
appointed a committee of Zepp.
Marilyn King and Walter Davis
to study the plan and propose a
reworded motion at the next
council meeting.
Council members were urged
to consider carefully the possi
bility of initiating an academic
honor system in the college. The
members were given reprints of
the report made by the Senate
Subcommittee on Academic Hon
esty. •
Irving Klein, chairman of the
spring semester orientation pro
gram, reported that he spoke to
more than 20 students during the
Week and answered many ques
tions concerning the activities of
the council.
