Paced by Judy Clancy's 27 points, Kappa Alpha Theta
copped the WRA Intramural basketball championship by de
feating Zeta Tau Alpha, 48-39, last night.
The game was played at White Hall with a record crowd
of 70 enthusiastic fans cheering their respective teams on to
victory.
Against a strong Zeta team, the
Thetas followed the script of re
cent performances. They opened
with a 15-9 first-quarter lead and
held at least that 6-point lead
throughout the game.
Captain Penny Erb's Theta
team looked like a title contend
er all the way. In the second half,
Judy Clancy, Ann Lutz, and Erb
swished the cords early to put the
Thetas off to a fast pace—a pace
the Zetas tried desperately to
match on the superb shooting of
Zeta's captain Jean Melvin. The
Zetas failed in the attempt, the
Thetas still led at the end of the
third quarter, 40-33.
