OCTOBER 16. 1957 Workers Begin Painting Lobby Of Old Main The lobby of Old Main is hay ihY. its face lifted, and the result will be a much brighter color scheme. Workmen last week began paint ing the main lobby, including the huge pillars, an off-white color. Charles A. Larnm, head of the division of building maintenance and operation, said the objeCt of the project is to make the lobby lighter. The new color scheme will cover dark grey and maroon walls and pillars. Lamm said the painting will not affect the large murals on the second floor of the main lobby. University_ workmen also, are engaged in a project on the fourth floor of Old Main, renovating rooms to make an office suite for one of the administration depart ments.
