practicable measures "with delib-:

• Dennis said the team "took the
University to account" for what:
the team said was a failure on!
its part to fulfill its responsibili- /

But Dennis said the team also
believes the entire state is remiss.
in its responsibilities with respect:
to the education of women.
"Salaries at Penn State were
found to be low by the accredit-

(The unsuccessful attempt by
the University to get funds from:
the state to increase salaries is:
!history now.)
I "As an institution grows in size ,
land the scope of its services is'
broadened, the problem of inter-'

creasingly difficult," Dennis said.
The accreditation team. Dennis
said, found a serious lack of -in-‘

"Sound educational policy,"
Dennis said. "requires clearly de-i
fined, easily accessible channels
of communication among stu
