Approximately 540 women students will be housed for the fall semester in Hibbs, Stephens, Haller and Lyons Halls along East College Ave. The four other units and the dining hall which will serve all eight. units are expected to be completed in time for the spring semester. • When all eight units are completed, the women students .living in Thompson Hall will be moved• out and then from Nittany and Pollock areas will be moved into Thompson. Thompson hall was originally built az_ a men's dormitory. When Thompson • houses men 'students from Nittany and Pol lock, work will begin on tearing down these temporary housing units. Meanwhile, contracts have been let for construction of a .men's residence hall quadrangle along Park Avenue. It is expected to be completed by fall of 1959, re placing the temporary housing • units. The coeds living in the new residence hall units will eat their meals in Simmons and McElwain dining halls until the central- dining area for the eight units is completed. Stein, a former city editor of -The Daily Collegian and a 1951 graduate in journalism, has been awarded a $1,500 Pulitzer Traveling Scholarship.
