Alpha Sigma Phi and the Bul
lets won the 1957 fraternity and
independent Intramural volleyball
championships last night at Rec
reation Hall.
Alpha Sig defeated Alpha ..
Sigma, 15-12, 15-4, and the But
lets downed the Dirty Thirty,
15-7, 17-15.
Lew Lynch, Ralph Brower and
John Jones were the key men in
Alpha Sig’s victory. Lynch did
the bulk of his team’s setting
while Brower and Jones stood ot
as spikers.
The Opening game was a see
saw affair. The Alpha Sig net
men jumped off to a 9-4 lead, but
Alpha Chi Sig, led by the spiking
of Joe Nock and Ken Christian
sen, pecked away at the margin
and knotted the count at 11-aU.;
After dropping behind. 11-12, on
the next exchange. Alpha Sig
roared back to take the next
four points and the game.
The Bullets gained the -
by trouncing the Drunks. 15-S,
15-3, in the semifinal round. The
Dirty Thirty sextet earned the
right to 'meet the eventual
champs with a 15-13, 15-9 tri
umph over the Cougars in the
semis.

p.m. Tuesday 'at the Intramural
office in Recreation Hall.
Both fraternity and indepen
dent groups may compete. The
events to be held are the 100;
and 440-yard dashes, the half
mile relay, the high and the broad
jumps and the 16-bound shot.
Competition will open in the
