PAGE TWELVE Council Will Appoint Two Ag Committees The Agriculture Student Council has asked its president, Russell Beatty, to appoint library and driveway improve ment committees. One committee will investigate ways to improve the, agriculture library and the other will see what can be done to fix the driveway behind Arms-| by and Weaver Buildings. ; Before the council decided to, appoint the committees Tuesday night, suggestions on both prob lems were made from the floor, j The group felt that the main) difficulty in the set-up of the, agriculture library was the lack l of space. At the present time there; are seating accommodations for 90 students and insufficient space' on the open shelves for many of: the books of general interest. j Other Improvements j The group also felt that thei lighting and temperature could! be improved. The room was said to be very cold in the winter. ! The driveway behind Armsby; and Weaver is filled with craters.: The group suggested that the De partment of Physical Plant be consulted about the cost and pro cedure for having the driveway fixed. Election Procedure Jean Poole, council secretary, suggested that representatives of the agricultural clubs, who com-! prise the council membership, be. She explained that the clubs usually hold their elections short ly before the council holds its (election of officers. Since the con ■stitution requires that the repre sentatives take their seats on council at the meeting following ,their election many of them do ;not know those nominated for of jfice and are handicapped in vot ing. Three Appointment! j It was suggested that the .pres ent system of holding elections in i clubs before the council elections is a good one because the council | membership would not be com jpletely new at one time.
