:1 I ,_~~: Sociology To Speak Dr. Samuel W. Blizzard, professor of sociology and rural sociology, will speak at Chapel Services at 10:55 a.m. tomor row in Schwab Auditorium. His subject will be "Self-Discovery and Responsible Living." For the service the choir will sing as the anthem an "St. Patrick's ancient Irish hymn, Breastplate." George E. Ceiga, orgariist, will play as the prelude, "Fantasia" by William Byrd; and as the post lude, "Carillon" by Leon Boell man. - Dr. Blizzard, an ordained Pres byterian minister, has been teach ing at the University and conduct ing research in urban and rural community relations _since 1947. His current studies are concerned with population and the rural church. He has recently been appointed to direct the Town and Country Pastor'fi Conference which is held annually at the University. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Blizzard holds degrees from Mary ville College in Tennessee, Prince ton •Theological Seminary. the Hartford Seminary Foundation and. Cornell University. He also attended the Biblical Seminary in New York and the Union Theo logical Seminary in Richmond, Va. Prior to joining the faculty at the University Dr. Blizzard taught sociology at the College of Woos ter in Ohio and at Cornell Uni versity. His appointments as a Presby terian minister have included services as assistant minister at the First Presbyterian Church in Roselle, N.J. and minister of the Chestnut Grove Presbyterian Church in Long Green, Md. - Dr. Blizzard served three years as secretary-treasurer in the Rural Sociological Society. This is the first time that the "Greeks" have attended services in their respective churches or synagogues. In previous years, fraternity and sorority members attended chapel services at Schwab Auditorium in a body. Dr. Samuel W.
