THE DAILY O Vessel Design To Be Studied A study of the design of pres sure vessels at both normal and elevated temperatures will be con ducted in the Department of En gineering Mechanics. Listed as a project on “Design of Pressure Vessels Based Upon the Plastic Range,” the study is sponsored by the Pressure Vessel Research Committee of the Weld ing Research CounciL It will deal with the development of stress analysis procedures for the design, of pressure vessels at both normal and elevated temperatures. Studies will be the interest in various engineering applications, including reactors and other pres sure vessels operating at elevated temperatures. Dr. Joseph Marin, professor and head of the Department of En gineering Mechanics, will conduct the project with the assistance of M. G. Sharma. research assistant. New Adviser Appointed I Mrs. William M. Evans has [been appointed adviser to the [campus unit of the State College Red Cross. Mrs. Evans first duty with the campus unit will be to help in bringing a variety program to the patients at the Altoona Veterans’ Hospital.
