Following fhe opening kick
off, the Timmites unleashed
their lone scoring punch, pene
trating the "Dirty 30" end zone
in three plays. A 28-yard pass
from Pete Basil ej to Bruce
Forbes put the pigskin on the
Horrors' 22-yard Jline. Basile
then pitched to Paul Rosea
berger'for the TD. The tailback
drop-kicked perfectly for the
conversion, which ultimately
decided the game.
Hanna’s Horrors fought back
to score in the closing minutes
of the first half. After Bud Al

on the Horrors’ 32, he executed a

beautiful pitchout play to Tom

to Jack Haraburta for a touch

to knot the count, as Albright’s
conversion attempt was low.

Sigma CHi,
A battle of two well-balanced
opponents saw Alpha Chi Sig’s
Bob Bishop tally on a 49-yard
heave from Joe Nock to break ap
the thriller. The spectators also
viewed a pair of tremendous field
goal tries by Alpha Sig’s Ralph
Brower, one a 36-yarder which
went for naught.
The Alpha Sigs drew first blood,
recording a first down on a‘Dick
Ferrari to Lou Lynch aerial, but
Alpha Chi Sig retaliated to avert
a 1-0 defeat. In the final seconds
of the last half, Nock flipped to
Fred Miller on the Alpha Sig 37
for the first, paving the way for
Bishop’s game-winning scamper.
Tom Phillips proved to be the
hero for Stan’s Boys, tagging a
Rambler back in the endzone for
the all-important safety.
The Boys’ best offensive thrust
came early in the second half,
when a 58-yard heave from Phil
lips to Bob Mumau reached the
Rambler 13. But Dick Hammond
intercepted a loser’s pass on the
nine.
THE DAILY COLLEGIAN. STATE COLLEGE. PENNSYLVANIA
A Mumau interception gave
Stan’s Boys possession on the
10. but a roughing penalty
thwarted the bid. Herb Lud
wick and Bill Neizlof were tbe
offensive pacemakers, as Stan’s
Boys dominated tbe action de
spite their failure to cross the
goal line.
In the final tilt of the night.
Phi Delta Theta recorded a 14-6
win over Sigma Chi. The Phi
Delts tallied in both halves while
the Sigma Chi nine chalked up
their lone touchdown in the sec
ond stanza.
Bill Stoddard’s 40-yard heave
to Toni Hancock scored the
winners' initial TD. Bill Schwab
fired to Russ Ramsey for 35
yards and the final Phi Delt
tally on a punt return. Tom
Burns converted twice for the
winners.
Sigma Chi, unable to get roll
ing ip the first half, penetrated
the Phi Delt goal line in the sec
ond, scoring on a 45-yard serial
fv>m Rich Bobbs to Phil Reese.
