hower called tonight for a "full share" for the farmer in
prosperity.
He aimed a scathing indictment of "mockery and deceit"
at Democratic proposals to revive rigid price supports.

Purpose Explained
' The NAACP contends the pur
pose of the special House sub
committee, made up largely of
Southerners, is to attack the
school integration policy that
went into effect here in the fall
of 1954.
The investigating group heard
one Washington teacher express
fear for her job today because of
her appearance at the hearings.
Teacher Gives Views
Mrs. Mary Seath, a fifth grade
teacher at Emory Elementary
School, said she felt in a "pre
carious position" because of a
statement by Wesley Williams, a
Negro member of the District of
Columbia Board of Education.
Williams had said a recheck of
the ability of some school admin
istrators might be desirable in
view of their testimony about dif
ficulties in handling integration
problems. •

In a bludgeoning attack, Eisen
hower described the farm pro
gram subscribed to by rival Adlai
E. Stevenson in terms of a "politi
cal grab bag," "price-depressing,"
and "politicking at the farmers'
expense."
Prospects 'Brighter'
In contrast, he said in a speech
before a national TV and radio
broadcast his administration is
opening up for farmers "brighter
peacetime prospects than they
have had for years."
Ahead, he promised, lies "full
income parity." He defined it as
the farmers' "full share in our
country's good times."
Free Agriculture
"In a free agriculture," Eisen
hower declared, •farmers attain
that kind of parity in the market
place. That's what I spoke for at
Kasson (Minn.) four years ago;
the attainment of that full share
for the farmer—the preservation
of a free agriculture.
"That's what I have been work
ing for. I shall keep on working
for .it, and the facts show good
progress"
Democrats have charged Eisen
hower endorsed 100 per n2nt par
ity price supports at Kasson in
the 1952 campaign. He said then
he wanted such parity "in the
'market place," a position he re
affirmed tonight.

Hurricane Flossy
Blows Itself Out

Hurricane Flossy virtually blew
itself out over Georgia Tuesday
after leaving 12 dead and more
than a dozen unaccounted for in
a sudden, wild sweep across the
Gulf of Mexico over the weekend.
The storm which developed
quickly in the gulf Saturday.
sped toward New Orleans and
then swept inland in northwest
Florida with 100-mile an hour
winds, was reduced to gusts of 25
to 50 miles an hour in southern
Georgia. More than five inches of
rain were dumped on dry farm
lands.
Most of the damage was in
the gulf where two men died in
drowning accidents aboard the
motor vessel Carport. The ship
was found in a battered condi
tion yesterday but the 15 still
aboard were reported in good
condition. The ship's radio had
been put out of commission by
the gale, its lifeboats smashed
and only one engine was oper
ating.
A tanker picked up off a reef
two men who had been missing
for hours in a helicopter while in
specting damage to oil rigs in the
gulf.

Over Suez Canal
UNITED NATIONS, N.Y., Sept. 25 tin—France and Brit
ain fought with evident bitterness today to beat down Egypt's
counter-attack against them in the Suez Canal controversy.
A procedural wrangle is expected when the UN Security
Council meets at 2 p.m. tomorrow for the first round on the
new case, just two months after
President Nasser seized the canal.
The result is In doubt The
United States kept its stand se
cret but the Soviet Union was
reported backing Egypt in the
developing UN battle over the
103-mile waterway.
Bernard Cornut-Gentille, French
delegate, said France will oppose
the move by Egypt to put on the
council agenda an item alleging
that Anglo-French actions against
Egypt are a danger to peace.
