Male Debaters
Plan Meeting
For Tomorrow
The first meeting of the semes
ter for the men's debate team
will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow
in 316 Sparks, with six members
of last year's varsity group re
turning, manager Jon Plaut said
yesterday.
Undergraduate men have been
invited to attend a preliminary
tryout, meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 26
in 316iSparks. No debate prepara
tion is necessary for this meeting.
Regular tryouts will be con
ducted at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 in 316
Sparks. Interested persons must
attend both meetings to qualify
for team membership.
The 1956-57 national debate
question is "Resolved: That the
United States should discontinue
direct economic aid to foreign
countries." Team coach Joseph F.
O'Brien, professor of public speak
ing.
Returning varsity members are
Plaut, *Edward Klevans,. Thomas
Hollander, Jay Feldstein, Gerald
Bogus and Robert Neff.
One of their outstanding ac
complishments was w nning the
North-South champio ships in
February at the Wes Virginia
University.

Compensation will be in meals
only.
A limited number of fraternity
dining hall jobs plus catering jobs
for- 'student :wives in the HUB
cafeterias also are available. Pay
ment for catering will be on a
cash basis.

Dr. Ruth C. Silva, associate
professor of political science at
the University, will be inter
viewed on "Behind the Lectern"
at 8 tonight over radio - station
WDFM.
