PA' EIGHT 6 Coeds to Compete For County Title Six coeds will be among the twelve contestants to vie for Miss Centre County, a preliminary elimination for the Miss America contest, tomorrow night at 8 p.m. in Bellefonte High School Auditorium. Contestants from the University are Patricia Reno, fresh man in arts and letters from Forest Hills, Gloria Ward, fresh- 14 Students Fined Record Amount By Traffic Court Fourteen persons were fined a total of $94 by the University Traffic Court last night. It was the highest amount in fines lev ied by the Court this year. ' Twenty-two persons appeared before the Court. Five cases were dismissed. Of the fines, $B3 were for park ing violations and $ll for failure to report to the Campus Patrol office. Ten dollars in fines was suspended by the Court. Seven persons failed to appear before the Court, thereby forfeit ing their right to appeal. They were automatically fined a total of $35. The highest indivioual fine was $25 for six parking violations and six failures to report to Traffic Court. Last night's meeting of th e Traffic Court was the last of the year, according to Richard Kurtz. member of the court. Recreation Society Elects Officers Edwin Shellenberger, junior in recreation education from Altoo na, has been elected president of the Recreation Society, a social •club for recreation education ma jors. Other newly-elected officers in clude Carlton Hartman, junior in physical education from State College, vice president; Marilyn Doan, sophomore in recreation education from Stale Ceege, sec retary; and Rodney Mott, sopho more in recreation education from Meshoppen, treasurer. The contestants will wear eve ning gowns and ride in converti bles in a parade preceding the competition, which begins at 6:30 p.m. The parade, which is also in Bellefonte, will begin on lower High St., go up High to Spring, south on Spring to Bishop, from Bishop to Allegheny, and on Al legheny to the school. Each Part Counts a Third The entries will be judged in evening gown, bathing suit, and on talent. Each division will count one third in the judging. Miss Reno will do a baton twining routine. Miss Kondor a modern ballet, Miss Keating a dramatic reading, and Miss Braun a monologue. Miss Daniels will sing and Miss Ward will display Iher art work. The contest is patterned after the national pageant. in all re spects. The song Miss America and other music for the event will be provided by Keystonaires, or chestra of the Bellefonte Ameri can Legion Junior Band, directed by Owen Butt.
